The “writing worth reading” section on the left recommends politically-based writing, not works of fiction or writing-related materials.

This free membership site to allow writers to share work and gain feedback. It also has an array of writing tools, contests and activities.
Writersdigest.com
Just about any writing question can be answered here, whether thought the extensive collection of writing related articles and editor blogs on various topics. There’s even one blog that is simply questions and answers. The site also offers a free newsletter and a special report on 70 solutions to writing mistakes.
Stephiesmith.com has general resources, as well as an extensive historical section on topics including world history, coinage, ships and naval history and more, which makes it a great place for anyone writing historical novels.
Firstwriter.com has a searchable database of writing contests
Accrispin.blogspot.com is the site for the Writer Beware blog, which exposes scams and other unscrupulous practices in the writing and publishing world.
