All the book marketing experts I’ve read insist it is critical to define the ideal reader.
My problem is that I have never been able to that. I thought I needed to specify age, sex, income, marital status and a few interests. Coming up with a concrete description of my ideal reader seemed as hard to re-telling a fading dream: hard to make sense of, difficult to capture details.
Then I read this blog post, and realized I may have been attacking this the wrong way (not the first time!)
I’m not sure how to turn this into targeted marketing strategies that work, but, one thing at a time.
Who are your ideal readers? What are some of the best book marketing strategies you’ve found to reach them?
