What I’m Writing
My writing time has been compromised lately. Why? Because we sold our house and are moving! From accepted offer to close is just over five weeks. So hours I would have spent writing are now taken up with purging and packing and all that fun stuff. Not to mention buying a new house…
Still, I’m managing to make progress on Flicker of the Flame. By the end of the week I hope to be 25% done with major revisions.
And because I’m an overachiever (or crazy), I’m participating in two short story anthologies. If all goes according to plan, they’ll both be out in the summer. More details to come.
Because of all the mayhem in my life, Game of Lies is not going to be ready in April. It needs more revisions than planned, but I think putting the effort in to make them will be worth all the work. Be on the lookout for it in May.
What I’m Reading
Never will I be too busy to read! Last week I picked up Michael Crichton’s Sphere. It’s not as well-known as Jurassic Park or The Andromeda Strain, but it’s every bit as gripping.
Deep in the South Pacific, a huge vessel of unknown technology is discovered one thousand feet below the surface. A group of American scientists rush to the scene to investigate and decide if it is alien or not. Then they have to grapple with a terrifying and destructive force that threatens to destroy them all. Crichton fans will be sure to enjoy this one.
