In Search of Words

The last few weeks have been so disturbing and heart wrenching. It’s hard to even know what to say.

Somehow, we’ll get through this, and hopefully, recent events will spark some much-needed changes. May we all be part of the solution.

What I’ve Been Writing

I’m not going to lie; it’s been tough to write through all this. But I’ve been plodding along with Flicker of the Flame and am making steady progress to the two-thirds point. Game of Lies, my prequel novella got shoved to the back burner during the move. But already this week I’ve made some headway with the rewrites and hope to have it ready for an editor by the end of the month.

What I’ve Been Reading

As always in times of turmoil, I reread old favorites, stories where I know the end. This time I went back to Kelly St. Clare’s Tainted Accords series and lost myself in all four novels and two of the novellas. They’re still a fun read even though I’ve read them many times.

And a little good news…

The Midwest Review of Books reviewed Flight of the Spark! It had been so long, I’d just about given up. They’ve been around since 1976 and are one of the sources libraries use when making acquisitions. And what did they say?

An impressively original, deftly crafted and inherently entertaining read from cover to cover, “Flight of the Spark” is an unreservedly recommended addition to school and community library YA Fiction collections.

I was over the moon after reading that review. Although I do treasure every review I receive. If you read and enjoyed Flight of the Spark, could you take a moment and leave a short review? I’d be grateful and delighted if you did.
