I spent the last week with three of my grandsons (aged 7 and three year old twins) while their parents were in Europe. There was lots of time for colorful chemistry experiments, a treasure hunt, finger painting, trips to many playgrounds, and a visit to the zoo.
But not much time for writing.
And I have no regrets.
As much I love creating stories and sharing them with my readers, it pales in comparison to the wonder on a little boy’s face when we open our experiment and find our ice cream actually froze. Or how my heart melts when another one wants to hold my hand while he goes to sleep.
So you’ll understand when I say I didn’t get much writing or editing done. But I’m happy to tell you I’m still on track to release The Girl Who Broke the Dark in November.
